                Under Sink Filters

Many people are aware of the benefits of water filters, which produce pure alkaline water that is good to drink and has healthy properties. However, some are installed on the benchtop in your kitchen and can take up valuable working space that may be at a premium if your kitchen is relatively small. Read More

Why an Under Sink Alkaline Water Filter is Best

The answer is to buy an under sink water filter that is installed out of sight and leaves your benchtop uncluttered. Such a device works equally as effectively as one that’s installed on a benchtop but doesn’t use up valuable space.

                Best Results from Quality Filters

Many alkaline filters aim to produce pure and healthy water by:

                • filtering out the majority of harmful minerals and contaminants while leaving beneficial minerals in place
                • creating water with a negative Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) since this acts as a powerful antioxidant to counter harmful oxidisation
                • adding extra hydrogen to produce H2 water that has additional antioxidant benefits
                • producing an optimum pH level of eight to nine so that water tastes good and counters the acidity produced by modern diets.

Although many companies aim to produce water that has all these characteristics, most can’t. Often they can meet most criteria but only at the expense of producing water that is too alkaline and, as a result, not drinkable. Our machines, however, produce the purest and best water that has all the optimum characteristics, whether mounted on the benchtop or if an under sink alkaline filter.

Installing and Using an Under Sink Alkaline Water Filter

Many of the water filters you can buy, including several from our range, are benchtop machines. These are the most popular and certainly do the job but, if your work space is limited, you may not want to lose more of it by installing a benchtop machine. In this case, the best option is to buy an alkaline water filter for under sink installation.

Installing a benchtop machine is really easy, in essence simply connecting it to the tap and a power supply, which can be completed in a matter of a few minutes. An under sink filter device takes a little more time, requiring the replacement of your kitchen tap with a special dispenser, but is still a straightforward process. The dispenser is provided for convenience of use and is necessary to control the machine without the need to access it under your sink.

Once the machine is installed, it’s simple to use and the dispenser has touch screen controls that you can use to select alkaline, acidic or purified water (the latter being neutral for alkalinity with a pH level of seven). It performs equally as well as our benchtop machines and is capable of producing water that’s ideal for drinking — a pH level of eight to nine, ORP at -840 and H2 at 1.6 parts per million.

Our under sink water filters produce the best tasting, cleanest, healthiest and safest water that you can get while keeping your benchtop free of clutter so you have maximum working space. They offer the very best performance and a great design that ensures that high level of performance is maintained. They are, quite simply, the best under sink ionizers you can buy.

Give your kitchen a useful upgrade with an under sink alkaline water filter

For your next renovation project, why not give your kitchen an upgrade that is more than just cosmetic? How about an upgrade that could be life changing? It sounds dramatic, but actually there is a real benefit you can gain (actually several benefits) just from installing an under sink water filter in your home.

But here's the thing… you don't want to install just any kind of under sink water filter. You need to make sure you're installing the right kind of water filter to make sure you're getting the maximum beneficial effect and potential return on investment. The filter you're going to want to install is an alkaline filter, and specifically an AlkaViva filter.

Some good reasons to choose an under sink alkaline filter

                1. This is a filter that fits under your sink, so it's not in the way and you don't really need to interact with it. It will quietly get the job done every time you turn on your tap.
                2. Filters out harmful contaminants and naturally raises the pH level of the water to make it safer for drinking with better health benefits compared to unfiltered tap water.
                3. Uses a safe, chemical-free method to clean the water.
                4. After treatment, water is clearer, and does not have the unpleasant smell or taste that is associated with unfiltered water.
                5. It's a genuine investment that will add value to your property.

An alkaline water filter for under the sink makes your water better

Tap water is far from safe to drink. The two most common concerns with tap water are fluoride and chlorine, and for very different reasons.

                • Fluoride is really worrying. The primary reason to worry about it is that the "fluoride" discovered to be beneficial to teeth was a naturally occurring fluoride compound called Calcium Fluoride (CaF2). It is quite different from sodium fluoride (NaF) and sodium fluorosilicate (Na2SiF6). These latter two compounds are highly toxic, where the potential harm greatly outweighs any potential benefits, and the first is also toxic but doesn't have the same potential to do harm.

The amounts that are added to the water supply are heavily diluted which is the reasoning used to label them as "safe". Do you need this stuff in your water? No way. You probably don't need it at all, but if you do, it's likely you're getting more than enough from toothpaste and mouthwash anyway.
                • Unlike fluoride, adding chlorine to the water is beneficial because it helps to reduce the number of potential pathogens that can end up in the water. However, the chlorine should be removed from the water before you consume it, bathe in it, or wash your clothes with it, because it is toxic too. As with fluoride, it is heavily diluted and unlikely to have any immediate short-term health effects apart from possible skin and eye irritation if the concentration is too high.

The problem for both fluoride and chlorine being added to the water is the concentrations can vary significantly between different regions. It might be within reasonably safe limits in one area and slightly outside those limits in another area not too far away. Unless you carry a chemistry set around with you everywhere you go, you won't be able to test the water to be sure of its safety before you use it.

Clearly the smart move is to use a water filtration system that can remove the harmful inorganic compounds from your water. AlkaViva provides the best value ionizing water filtration systems available in Australia, so when you want to buy an under sink water filter, be sure to buy it from AlkaViva.
